You'll Get Plenty of Compliments Wearing This Outfit

Lara Burnell

After a week of uniform dressing (literally or figuratively), it feels nice to occasionally dress up on the weekends and wear something out of your normal routine. Even better when a stranger compliments you or when your friends ask where you got your outfit from. For something fun and colourful, we've looked to fashion influencer Yan Yan Chan for weekend outfit inspiration when she stepped out at Fashion Week Australia in this bold, colourblocked outfit.

Chan paired a long sleeve, lace top with a navy and white stripe skirt and kept accessories to a minimum with some colourful sunglasses and a simple black hard-case clutch. The metallic ankle boots are my favourite part of the outfit, giving off a feminine/street vibe.

To wear separately, match the top with light wash blue jeans, and pair the skirt with a white silk shirt to tone it down during the workweek. As for the shoes, well, metallics will always dress up any outfit you have in your wardrobe.
