The "Weird" Shoe Trend This 5'2" Editor Is Totally Into
OK, I'm 5'2" and a half, but I think we can all agree that that still keeps me on the lower end of the height spectrum—a range at which most girls feel like high heels are the way to go for work, nights out, and more. And I get it, sometimes we all want to look and feel taller, sexier, slimmer, etc. Most of the time, however, despite all reason, this editor can't help but partake in a full-fledged love affair with kitten heels: The polarising shoe, which, though trending now (thanks to some of our favourite brands), has always been around, dividing shoppers into those who love them or those who hate them.
As I mentioned, I fall in the "love them" category, and let me tell you why. As a smaller girl, I feel like everything you wear should not only mesh with the other pieces in your outfit but also with your body. So, when I want to add height, a delicate kitten heel blends seamlessly with my form, while a super-high heel or platform would only draw attention to my deceit. The comfort factor is also worth noting, but as someone who would happily suffer for fashion, I consider that a bonus. Moving on, and for lack of a better phrase: They are just so chic. I mean after viewing the gallery that follows this rant, you have to admit that a girl with a kitten heel has a certain je ne sais quoi about her.
See what I mean below, and then shop some of my favourite kitten heels for autumn.
