Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte Were Twinning at Trooping the Colour
Happy Birthday to the Queen! Though the 91-year-old monarch actually celebrated her birthday on April 21, the day of epic fanfare was over the weekend—and fashion to match—at the annual birthday event Trooping the Colour. As Prince William and Prince Charles processed on horseback, Kate Middleton followed in a carriage with Prince Harry and Camilla Parker Bowles. For the occasion, Middleton donned a pink Alexander McQueen skater dress and matching hat by Jane Taylor. This is the fifth time Middleton has chosen an Alexander McQueen number for the event, wearing it to her inaugural Trooping the Colour as a newlywed in 2011 and again in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
Not only was Middleton's ensemble the perfect execution of bold monochrome dressing, but she even had a twinning moment with daughter Princess Charlotte who was also pretty in pink. Carried by her mother on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, the 2-year-old was adorable in a patterned smock dress and burgundy Mary Jane shoes (that even coordinated with brother George's suspenders).
