If there’s one thing Australians love, it’s travelling. And since we’ve already looked at how to make the most of the long weekends this year, we figured it’s time to look for hacks that can get us the cheapest flights too. While any globe-trotting experience is worth your hard-earned cash, it can never hurt to make it stretch as far as possible. After all, a holiday is so much more than just the flights. It’s also about your perfectly curated wardrobe, accommodation and the activities you embark on while your there.

According to new research from Skyscanner, three out of four Australians miss out on getting their hands on the best deals because they are booking too late, and when it comes to looking at flights, the best time to start reserving your seats could be as early as 22 weeks before your holiday. The research also found that the best time to book to travel is in May. In fact, it doesn’t really matter what day of the week you book, with some assuming a midweek booking leads to cheaper flight. So now that you can save a significant amount on flights, we’re thinking you may as well spend it on some chic in-flight accessories. Shop our favourites below.

Layer, layer, layer. It’s amazing what you have lying around (neutral trays, beautifully bound books, vinyl) that add your personality to any space.
