9 Fashion Girls Share Their Favourite Holiday Traditions
It's no secret that holidays are rooted in tradition. Some of those traditions are celebrated by the masses, like an extravagant meal on Christmas Eve or exchanging presents for Hanukkah and Christmas, but others are deeply personal, between family and friends alone. Though we have many of our own traditions—perhaps that's partaking in a specific activity with family during the holiday season or making a signature cocktail with BFFs—we’re always interested in creating new ones, so we turned to our favourite fashion girls for inspiration. That's right, we tapped some of our most stylish friends like Aimee Song, Garance Doré, Lauren Conrad, and Laure Brown to reveal their favourite holiday routines. While some of their traditions may totally be in line with you already celebrate, others may be new and worth adopting.

"My family tends to view every holiday as an excuse to tease my mother about her insane collection of decorations, cook an extravagant amount of food, and drink champagne, and Christmas is no exception to that rule. For our big Christmas meal, we always have a motley crew of friends and family over for some sort of huge holiday roast—prime rib or beef tenderloin, typically—along with a hugely decadent amount of mashed potatoes, homemade horseradish sauce, creamed spinach, and Melissa Clark’s sinfully delicious Chocolate Pecan Bourbon Pie. Champagne abounds, and all are merry and bright."
“I don't have a big family (just my parents and my sister Dani), so for holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, Dani and I go to downtown L.A. by Skid Row with our friend Sennett and hand out goodie bags filled with food, clothes, toiletries, etc. to the homeless people. It's such an amazing experience and makes the holidays less lonely.”
"I'm still very new to America, and to be honest, my family has never really been into holiday traditions so I've always missed that a lot. This year for the first time, my boyfriend Chris and I have decided to buy a giant Christmas tree and host a Christmas jazz party. I can't wait to decorate it. I believe in making your own traditions; I can't wait for this one to take shape!"
“Every winter during the holiday season, I take my children ice skating at Bryant Park. I love watching how graceful the girls have become on the ice and how much fun Charlie has while trying to maintain balance. We sip on hot chocolate and have a lovely day together. I love finding activities we all enjoy!”
