The 9 Pillars of Angelina Jolie's Super-Chic Minimal Wardrobe
Angelina Jolie has come a long way from her ’90s days spent as a brooding goth who wore a vial of blood around her neck. That said, her bad girl streak has never quite left her—and thank goodness for that. In a sea of red carpet froth, we can always count on Angelina to bring the sartorial antidote in the form of black gowns or sharp tailoring, bestowing the celebrity circuit with some much-needed grown-up attire.
When she’s not attending award shows, premieres or supporting her acting colleagues at industry events, Angelina’s wardrobe reflects the other side of her multifaceted persona: a world-renowned humanitarian who has campaigned tirelessly to end child poverty and sexual violence in conflict-torn regions. When she’s loaning her voice and profile to extremely worthy causes, her wares become more subdued but equally as elegant. Think classic roll-necks, sleek blouses and wide-leg trousers. The same goes for when she’s directing critically acclaimed films, speaking at UN summits, and spending quality time with her six children.
Indeed, we dare ask, how does Angelina Jolie find the time to get dressed, let alone look so luxe? It helps, then, that she has a nine-piece capsule wardrobe to fall back on. After hours of research, we were able to determine the items Angelina always wears. Keep scrolling to see some of the best of Angelina Jolie’s style and then proceed to shop her expertly curated capsule wardrobe.
Be it a red carpet appearance or a trip to the shops, chances are Ange will be sporting a pair of black tailored trousers directly contrasted by a cream blazer, with tuxedo iterations proving to be her favourite.
When she needs to look glamorous Ange turns to satin, much like the rest of us right now. The could-be-liquid looks particularly striking with her glossy locks.
You need only look at the photos within this story to see that Angelina has a bit of a thing for court shoes. With the power to give any outfit a polished spin, this style might have been overlooked for too long.

Like every good minimalist who came before her. Angelina has an excellent collection of roll-necks at her sartorial disposal. Black is her go-to, but we've also seen her in powder blue and brown colourways.
As well as satin fabrics, Angelina can't resist decadent feather trims on her red-carpet gowns. Handily, they're proving to be a key detail for A/W 19, too.
On the days where she forgoes black, Angelina can usually be found sporting neutrals top to toe. Think cream, beige, tan and brown.

Ange might not wear a lot of colour where her clothes are concerned, but her bags? You'll often find her toting bright red arm candy. That, or a pillar-box red lip.
Skinny jeans serve as Angelina's off-duty trouser, but for public events and human rights summits, she tends to opt for wide-leg styles that look chic and professional in equal measure.
When we imagine Angelina's wardrobe, we envisage an entire section dedicated to little black dresses. When they look this good, no one can blame her for being borderline obsessed.
